The Hon Fiona Nash, Minister for Regional Development has launched the Australian Government’s vision statement for rural, regional, and remote Australia.
Regions 2030: Unlocking Opportunity sets out a vision for regional Australia, highlights investments and achievements, and the future direction for regional Australia towards 2030.
Activity is being focused across five key areas:
- Jobs and economic development
- Infrastructure
- Health
- Education
- Communications
Government initiatives including Regional Development Australia committees, provide a vital link between local community stakeholders and government, advising the Australian Government on critical issues affecting economic development in regions and enhancing awareness of Australian Government programs.
