Young eco warriors, business leaders, social enterprises and long-time leaders of the environmental movement are all represented in the list of finalists for the 19th annual Green Globe Awards. The finalists were announced by the Office of Environment and Heritage Chief Executive, Anthony Lean.
The diverse group of 40 finalists was selected from over 150 nominations representing a vast range of sectors, from all corners of the state and all walks of life.
Their work is broad. From protecting water quality, to community run renewable energy advances. From creative solutions to plastic recycling and sustainable packaging, to agriculture and bush regeneration around NSW.
Nominees also represent emerging areas such as ethical fashion and indigenous businesses for the first time, demonstrating the growing reach of these prestigious awards.
Our local finalist are:
- Splendour in the Grass for the Business Leadership Award,
- COREM and Positive Change for Marine Life for the Community Leadership Award, and
- Arlian Ecker (Plastic Free Boy) for the Young Sustainability Champion Award
The winners will be announced on Thursday 4 October 2018. Awards from 13 categories will be handed out on the night, including the Premier’s Award for Environmental Excellence and the Regional Sustainability Award.
