Variable regional climatic conditions have proved both a boon and a burden to agriculture according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics 2015-16 Agricultural Census Data, which was released in July 2017.
The 2015-16 Agricultural Census collected data from 104,000 businesses to produce a picture of Australia’s agricultural sector.
For Northern Rivers farmers, fruit, nuts and vegetables were second and third top crop types, while the national beef count was down 1% on previous years.
Take a look at a roundup of the data from the Australian Farmers Federation.
The data tables are available from the Australian Bureau of Statistics website.
