Consultant rewarded for helping small business get online

On Friday (13 December) Regional Development Australia-Northern Rivers Chairman Dr Ian Tiley will present a certificate and $500 bonus to Owen Trembath in appreciation of the support he has given to more than 25 small businesses and organisations in the region to improve their online capacity. Mr Trembath of Lismore is one of 30 ‘Digi-Advantage’ consultants who undertook specialised training in creating websites, eMarketing and developing eCommerce earlier this year. The program was managed by RDA-Northern Rivers and was a joint project with the North Coast Institute of TAFE NSW State Training Services; NSW Trade and Investment and Southern Cross University. Dr Tiley said the program has been a great success, with more than 100 businesses registering to engage a consultant, for which they received a $250 grant from RDA-Northern Rivers. “We are delighted that almost 90 placements have been completed for Northern Rivers businesses, ranging from small tourism operators and local food manufacturers to building supplies companies. RDAF and Community Infrastructure Grants Program

The Government has confirmed that it will fund all projects from Rounds Two, Three and Four of the former Regional Development Australia Fund, including those projects currently under contract and those who were not subject to a signed funding agreement prior to the election. The Government has also confirmed that most of the uncontracted projects from the former Community Infrastructure Grants programme will be funded.
