Lismore born Shoes of Prey co-founder Jodie Fox and Page MP Kevin Hogan launched the Northern Rivers Digital Economy Strategy in Ballina on 1 November 2013
The Northern Rivers Digital Economy Strategy was launched by Jodie Fox (Shoes of Prey) and MP for Page Kevin Hogan at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery on Friday 1 November.
Two new research reports indicate that small to medium enterprises who embrace the digital economy will not only improve productivity and profitability, they will create jobs growth in their sectors too.
Individuals, Farming and Fishing entities/enterprises, Landcare Groups, Dunecare groups, ‘friends-of’ and other community group organisations, Indigenous groups / organisations or people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background are invited to apply for the Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority 2013-14 Small Grants Program. Funds are available for the maintenance and restoration of natural resources (e.g. soils, biodiversity, rivers, wetlands, and coastal and marine environments) to sustainable levels. Grants of between $2,000-$10,000 are available for on-ground works. Grants for the development or updating of NRM Plans is capped at a maximum of $5,000. All qualifying projects need to be completed by mid-May 2014. Delivered in partnership with eleven Landcare Networks in the Northern Rivers the program is funded through the State Government’s Catchment Action NSW and the Australian Government’s Caring for Our Country Program. Landcare Networks will be hosting ‘Information sessions’ in coming weeks. Check your local landcare network’s website for details.
